RANDOM SNAP 326 POWER S15

The crew at 326 Power have been known to built some crazy machines. Most of the times it is a love or hate thing, but they don't care, they just built what is in their eyes the ultimate car. There is no denying this car will cause some controversy but at least it can drift as shown in this video . -Jeroen Willemsen Taken from SceneMedia

RANDOM SNAP PORSCHE 918 RSR

Porsche dropped quite a few jaws today when they unveiled the 918 RSR at the Detroit Auto Show. Under all of that modern, yet slightly retro bodywork is the drivetrain of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid in all of its 767 horsepower, 10,300 rpm glory. I don't think anything else needs to be said. Porsche does it again. -Mike Garrett...

BEHIND THE SCENES SPEEDHUNTING IN DUBAI PT.3

I'm finally getting back to finishing up my last story from my Dubai trip in December. It's hard to believe that only thirty days ago I was enjoying the sunshine and the exotic offerings of the middle east and now I am sat in a dark office with rain pounding the windows. I think I mentioned this in the previous posts, but one thing that really struck me about the Dubai car culture scene is the friendliness of everyone involved. Now, to be fair I've always regarded the car scene anywhere...

Featured car - 996 Top Secret Turbo

This months featured car was on display at the Toyo Tires rig at SEMA 2008 in Las Vegas. Apparently, David Huang began the build on this car 1 month before the show. The concept was a rarely seen Japanese modified Porsche 996 Turbo. The build included a Top Secret carbon fiber wide body, Ikeya Formula suspension pieces, Arqray stainless turbo manifold, titanium exhaust system, Endless 12-piston calipers, Aragosta coilovers, and a Roberuta air cup system. Auto Fashion (AutoFashionUSA.com) was hard at work installing a gnarly brake and suspension system at the last minute before the show and delivered on time. This car should be back in the near future with a digital print graphic make over. Imagine what they could do in TWO months!

David Huang's Porsche Turbo was on display at the Need For Speed Undercover launch party in Hollywood California. Thanks to the guys at Speed Hunters for posting these great pictures.

Featured car - Vorsteiner VRT Edition 997 Turbo

The Vorsteiner V-RT (Vorsteiner Race Technologies) latest aerodynamic & forged wheel package is finally being released to the public to add to the current V-GT lineup for the 997 Carrera. The all-new V-RT parts will be available for world wide release after March 23rd, 2009.
The exterior aerodynamic package consists of 3 primary packages. Up front is a new replacement front fascia that features larger carbon fiber air intakes for the radiators and elimination of the fog lights like the factory 997 GT2. A removable dry carbon fiber front lower spoiler adds additional down force to the front end while protecting the front bumper from any steep inclines or road hazards. The principal challenge of this front bumper was maximize weight savings . This was achieved by eliminating the fog lights, and replacing the factory plastic air ducts and hardware with carbon fiber ducting as a molded single component of the front bumper .
The V-RT rear bumper is also designed to offer the 997 Turbo with a wider stance with enlarged side intercooler extraction vents that house a replacement dry carbon fiber shroud that is approximately 35% larger for improved airflow through the intercoolers. The rear bumper also features a new molded carbon fiber rear diffuser with integrated twin aero fins that encompass the quad sport exhaust tips.
The V-RT rear end is completed with a carbon composite rear deck lid/engine cover with twin ram air scoops that feed air into the engine bay and air intake for maximum airflow and cooling. Additionally a carbon fiber wing blade enhances the final appearance while increasing down force to the rear of the vehicle at high speeds

SLAMMED Cobra

This native Dutch Cobra (replica) stole my attention as its blend modern styling applied to a classic platform gives off a powerful presence. From what I’ve read on Speed Hunters, this particular car is equipped with air bag, a fashion forward mod compromising handling. But, either way I love what’s going on here. It’s like an Alex Zhao Cobra lol

R-Magic Pink 4 TA 2010

The R-Magic Pink 4 TA SPL in 2010 in AMAZING!

While talking to Allen from Tomei and Dino recently, both are heading to Australia to help set up and cover the Super Lap Battle. This is a great for you guys because it means there will be some insane photography and good inside info from the event. They were both at Fuji recently testing and Dino grabbed these snaps for speed hunters.

The car has been almost completely changed outside and under the hood. New body items include front splitter, front fenders, rear fenders. The result is absolutely perfect.

New Engine looks as good as before. It's tuned for Sonoco race fuel and offers big HP gains over the previous setup. We can expect this car to run some seious times. Based on looks I think it has the goods to topple the Pan Speed guys. But time shall tell about the performance.

Wheels are 18"x11.0"J "TE37 SL"  What is "SL"? It is a special version especially for Super Lap. This version is specially produced and they are 400g lighter for a similar sized wheel. This was before paint and the raw finish shaves weight and increases style! Are these the ultimate wheels? I think so! Special Rays stickers finish them off. They are now a darker colour after smoke and clear coat.

Kinoshita has his work cut out to learn eastern creek circuit, but as a pro, I'm sure he will be on the pace in no time at all.

Tsukuba is a much tighter track and the tyre compounds will be an issue for these cars. 55.947 in 2006 on a 2klm circuit is no measure 3.93klm and 2010 is a complete change. The cars are testing at fuji for a reason. Longer circuit and similar times around the 1.40 ish mark are to be expected.
